paul plews • modern classics

i'm into the antiquated and eerie painted portrait quality of these pictures by british photographer paul plews. the series is called modern classics and the photos have titles that suggest the mores of another era like "honour" and "dignity." paul's taking major visual cues here from dutch painters like vermeer and rembrandt, especially in the detail and the lighting, and i like what he's made of it. you can see more of his work here. and even read about the minor scandal these pictures have stirred here.
