løber nøgen
løber nøgen (which means "running naked" in danish) is an artistic community founded at fatamorgana, the danish school of art photography in copenhagen in august 2006. the core of løber nøgen consists of six photographers hailing from france, norway and denmark. see more of their work here.

mona kuhn • evidence
hot off the press from steidl (one of my favorite book publishers) is mona kuhn's new book, evidence. the photos are a flurry of idealized naked bodies, lush sunlight, and ephemeral out-of-focus prettiness. for those of you here in nyc mona will be doing a book signing this thursday night at the charles cowles gallery. for those of you a bit further away, take a peek at mona's work here.

michele abeles
there's something curiously uncomfortable about the vision of male sexuality portrayed in these pictures by yale mfa student michele abeless. have a peek at more of her work here.

diana scherer • pairs

diana scherer's work uses flat photographic cut-outs of people to jarring effect. i especially like the strange way the figures are paired, the imperfectness of the bodies, and how we never get to see any of their faces. in that last respect, sort of an interesting contrast to the reverse portraits by marjaana kella i posted about a few days ago.
you can take a peek at more of diana's work here. she is represented by van zoetendaal collections in amsterdam.
