german photographer georg kuettinger's landscape cuts are made like this: "a number of singular photos (30-50) are taken along a pathway or a road, or are taken distributed across a particular area from various different locations. afterwards these are compressed into one picture frame digitally by overlapping and superimposing them to create the (image of the) scenery." you can see more of georg's work here.
