elena givone

for her project portrait of a consumer society italian photographer elena givone went back to photograph the same apartment complex's trash bin every day for 15 days. as elena puts it "crowds of people take by assault supermarkets and shops. ikea’s politics work perfectly: you buy, use and throw. every day the garbage containers are full of new things; someone doesn’t need it any more...deprived of value because it ended in the garbage. a metaphor of daily life." see more of elena's work here.
