susannah slocum
i am in love with these pictures by susannah slocum. she manages to transform blank-looking things from around the house into uncanny objects with the deadpan way she photographs them. i don't know exactly what the orange disk is, but all the rest seem to be different kinds of devises for measuring. there is also an interesting anachronistic quality at work. somehow it all makes me think about the passing of time. you can see more of susannah's work here and her recent collaboration with artist carolyn mason titled matrimony and motherhood here.
