cutup

british artists cutup hijack billboards and advertisements to reorder their visual content and meaning in novel ways. the bbc describes them as: "arguably the most inventive art activists in the uk. the pair rip down billboard ads, cut them into roughly even rectangles and collage them together to form artworks which they then paste back onto billboard spaces. the results are abstract, lifelike and a brilliant reinvention." you can see more of their work here.
