i like the total lack of relationship between the subject and his surroundings in these pictures by swedish photographer jesper ulvelius. the cord we see in all of them is the shutter release cable (which allows you to take a picture some distance away from the camera), so these are self-portraits. you can see more of jesper's work right here.
